Lesson 29: Initial ‘s’ Blends

This worksheet package focuses on the initial ‘s’ blends (sc, sk, sm, sn, sp, st). Great for beginning learners to practice their letter formation, sounding out skills, and phonemic awareness. Our worksheet packages build phonemic awareness skills in a sequential order and are intended to be worked through starting from lesson 1, lesson 2, lesson 3 etc. This package will help students practice their sounding out skills based on the sounds they have learned in lessons 1 through 28. All sounds and words are phonetically controlled if students have completed lessons 1 through 28.

Page 1 – Trace, sound out as you spell, match – Students should be guided to sound out as they trace each letter, then circle the picture that matches the word.

Page 2 – Circle the correct words – Students read both words and circle the word that matches the picture in the box.
